 We Needed This ExtensionJul 15, 2010
Measure before you buy! That simple. Our stairways are too wide for just the gate itself, so these extensions were required. They're extremely simple to install and use and make the gate FAR more stable than without it in wider areas.

Upon moving, we realized that our hands-free gate was too small for our new space. The extension is perfect, allowing us to continue to use a gate that we quite like (and already owned). The fit is sturdy. Works just like it is supposed to.

We ordered the Hand's Free Baby Gate, by First Years, however it was just a little too narrow for our door. With this extension it fits and works perfectly. It also matches the gate exactly, so you can't even tell we are using an extension! Bottom line: It does it's job, and it works well.

If you already have a first years hands free gate, this extension works great to block off those extra wide doorways. We actually use the gate for our dogs and it works perfectly. We've had the gate for almost two years. We have an extension on both sides (one came with the gate) and we've had no problems.

We already have four of the gates, but did not have an extension to close off the foyer by the front door (we have our third Schipperke now and she is deaf; we didn't want her to get out the front door). The extension has worked just great. Thank you.
