4Haven't really used it yet, but seems decentAug 14, 2007
By R. Anderson
I just got this for my 18 mo old, as we are just beginning to introduce the potty. Right now, we are simply encouraging her to sit on it (fully clothed) when we have to go. When she seems ready, we will begin actively training her.

The cover and seat both lift up, however, when you put the seat part down, you have to check to make sure it's on in the grooves, as it doesn't just drop in it when you close the seat. I can see how this can result in a pinch.

The opening is large. My daughter is small and skinny, she's only about 23 lbs, so her bottom goes into the opening a bit. She still wears a 12 month size pants, which sometimes is so loose it falls down a lot.

The cover/stool part has a textured surface which is slip-resistant. The nice part is that the stool can be used separately from the seat insert, so that your child can climb on the adult toilet more easily, or reach the faucet. It's not very tall, so my daughter still can't reach it while standing on the stool (which is about 7 inches).

The seat insert has rubber feet at the back end. The potty chair base has rubber feet at the back end. These rubber feet can simply fall off, so you need to check that they are still there if you move the chair to a different room.

The cover part is not a backrest, and it says so on the box so you need to make sure your child doesn't lean back on it. It can also fall on your child's back when they are sitting on it. It can be removed.

I like that there are minimal pieces so that when the time comes, the clean up won't be a huge chore.

Update: MY daughter just turned two last week. So far, she doesn't seem to mind sitting on the potty all the time, but nothing ever comes out. She has lifted the seat part to look under, and sometimes she wants to "flush" it, and looks around for the flush handle. I have removed the cover part so that it's easier to get to when she wants to sit on it. A couple times, she made a little bit of urine, but stopped it and seemed freaked out that something came out of her. I guess that is the part of toilet training, it feels different in a diaper than in a potty. She is also insisting on wearing big girl underwear for the last three days, so I have her in training pants. So far, we've had no luck with her going successfully in this potty chair. I'm wondering if a padded seat would have been better?

Update: My daughter is now four years old and in preschool. I still keep one of these in my car just for those times when she really has to go, and I don't want to deal with an unsanitary public toilet. I simply use a plastic bag, the ones in the produce department, and use it to line the inner cup part. I also keep a roll of paper towels in the car along with a bunch of Cottonelle wipes and Sani-hand antibacterial wipes (both in the individual packets). So, when she has to go pronto, I just park my SUV and put her in the back, She sits and does her business. Clean up is quick, I simply use a paper towel to wipe the seat and rim for any splashes, then throw it in the cup part that has the plastic bag, then I use the germ-x wipe that she used to clean her hands, and I wipe the seat and edge, then flip it up (like you would a regular toilet seat), and put all the trash in the bag, take out the bag, knot it and toss it in a trash can. I make sure to put a new bag liner in right after and have it set up, so that when the time comes, it's ready to go. I like that there is a lid, that helps keep it clean and dust free. Some people think it's weird to have it in the car, but I think it's better than a dirty public toilet seat. I keep it clean and ready to go. I also have a plastic IRIS drawer thing in the back of my SUV that I keep extra stuff in, liner bags, paper towels, wipes, change of clothes, etc. It's very handy and keeps it neat and I can put stuff on top while still having access to open the drawer. Overall, this potty is great. It sure beats cleaning up an accident in the car seat or having to deal with a public bathroom.

5Simple easy to use pottyMay 27, 2009
By Tracy Becker
I got two of these from someone who's twin granddaughters never used them. I figured they were cute and she didn't want much for them. I'm really glad I got them. They are sturdy, my daughter has been using them to stand on for a while, long before she started potty training. About a week ago we actually started trying to potty train and these come in really handy. I have one in each bathroom and she can go use it, lift up the lid, take the "cup" and pour it in the potty and then return it to the chair. Its a simple design so its super easy to clean. She just used it as a seat on the big potty and it worked really well. It will take some practice for her to scoot all the way back on it. I think it could use something to make it slip a little less. It could be that mine is missing something though. Overall we both like this potty and would buy it again.

3Cute pink potty but....Aug 28, 2008
By LuvMyFamily
the "grippers" on the base feet slip off easily. The lid wont stay up either. However it was cheap, it was pink, and my daughter loves it. I just make sure I am always with her and I brace it against something.

1Not good for boysOct 04, 2009
By Ahmad M. Wehbe "Photo MD"
I bought the blue one for my boy. The potty hole is so tiny even for a tiny butt and the splash guard is useless.. I tried to put the toilet trainer on our toilet seat .. It did not fit at all.

5great potty for girls at great priceOct 07, 2008

I bought it for my daughter who is a little over two years old. This is her 2nd potty chair and she has had greater interests in using this than her old one (an old model of Fisher-Price potty chair that a friend gave us). I think there are several reasons:
1. It's new and it's pink;
2. The pink seat cover has a more comfortable contour that fits better for her. My daughter's build is small and a lot of the other potties have a much higher "pee-stop" for boys which is uncomfortable for her. You can remove the pee-stop on some models but then it leaves a somewhat sharp edge at the connection point which can also make her uncomfortable.

The additional reasons I like this potty include:
1. In some other models, one has to "take apart" the seat before emptying the content and one has to put some parts on the floor which is kind of gross to me. In this model, the lid and seat cover are all connected on the main seat by a hinge, so no part needs to be on the floor when I take out the container. And the container is easy to clean.
2. It has a lid with light pink clor so it's less noticeable when one puts it in the living room.
3. You can't beat the price!
