Wonderful for new momsMay 08, 2010 I was lucky enough to receive both the boppy and the brest friend pillow. Both have their uses so it depends on your needs.
The brest friend pillow was wonderful for a new mom breastfeeding. I had difficultly in the hospital as I was a new mom and never breast feed before and my baby was sleepy and new at breast feeding also. I tried to use pillows on the hospital bed, but it was difficult. Once I came home and used the brest friend pillow, I had no problem. It is very firm and creates a shelf for the baby. I tried the boppy, but found my daughter would sink into it and not be in a proper position for feeding.
The boppy is great for other uses besides breast feeding. My husband and I use it on the couch when we want to watch t.v. and have her on our lap. You can also use it to support the baby when the baby is ready to sit up by themselves.

BEST breast feeding pillow!May 07, 2010 Don't buy a boppy for breast feeding- it is crappy and has NO support! I have no idea where mine is- waste of money. Anyways being a first time mom this pillow is a life saver! It's soft and helped me out a lot- still does! I am large up top and it would be a task for me to hold my daughter and nurse, this is awesome. It supports her firmly and helped me get her latched quickly. I highly recommend this pillow- make sure you buy the deluxe it's super soft and the pocket up front is great to hold a phone, clicker, water- whatever. Also it is FULLY adjustable!!

Love itApr 14, 2010 I'm using this pillow to nurse my 2-month-old right now. I love this pillow. It provides great back support, and is comfortable for both mom and baby. I never get sore arms, back, neck or anything else while using this pillow, no matter how long my little one nurses for. Note: it only works for the football hold nursing position when the baby is very small.

I love this pillow!Apr 10, 2010 The bobby is cute and soft, but did not provide the support needed for nursing my infant daughter. I tried it out at my lactation consultant's office and it was so much better! I don't like that my pillow, which I was given from a friend, is foam without a cover. The only downside to this pillow is that putting the cover back on is a bit cumbersome. However, it is much better than the Bobby. One idea I got from the lactation consultant is to put a blanket on top of the cover when nursing or burping baby, that way if baby burps up milk or has a diaper blowout, you can just throw the blanket in the hamper and get another clean one. It is also helpful to buy a spare cover so one is always clean.
Best money I ever spent!!Apr 01, 2010 This is my third baby and while I made a valiant effort to nurse my two older daughters, breastfeeding for me was a COMPLETE failure. I wound up giving both my older girls bottles of formula as well as expressed breast milk. I pumped for 5 months with my oldest daughter and for 4 months with my youngest daughter. Back then I used a boppy pillow and I never felt like the girls were in a proper position and I sure as heck was uncomfortable. For a variety of reasons, I wound up with bleeding and cracked nipples, severe breast infections and clogged ducts and if was for me just too damn painful to nurse, so I resorted to pumping.
With my third child, who just turned 5 weeks old, I've been able to breastfeed with relative ease and I know that this pillow has been part of the solution. The baby and I are perfectly positioned. I do not have to hunch over, or hang on for dear life to pillows. I am hands-free to stroke my baby's cheek, or reach for the remote control. I wish this pillow had been around when I was attempting to breastfeed my other daughters.
I would highly recommend buying an extra cover. Breastfeeding is messy due to leakage and spit-ups. You might even want to buy two, so you'll have one for the pillow, one in the laundry and one in the drawer ready to swap out!!
Also, the pillow will fit anyone. I first tried it on when I was 2 weeks overdue and thus hugely pregnant and the buckle had plenty of room and I'm not a tiny woman. I wore a size 12 prior to this pregnancy and got up to a size 14/16 in my last month. The buckle will easily expand, or now (thank goodness) contract to fit your ever changing shape.
Lastly, I bought mine on Craig's list. It had never been used and I only spent $10.00, but having used it for the past 5 weeks, I would certainly have spent the $60.00 and it would have been worth every penny.
Buy this. I cannot understand the negative reviews, they must be from the maker of the boppy!!!
