10X Better than Boppy, easy to clean, use it standing up!Jul 01, 2009
By Y. R. Wu
"The will to win is nothing without the will to prepare - Juma Ikangaa"
The removable cover (zipper) makes this easy to clean (just make sure the velcro is stuck to itself when you wash it or it will stick to all your nice socks.)
My wife tried a boppy for the first month then got this, which she used continually for the next year. She has used it for all 3 of our children. The Boppy my sister loaned us was pretty flat after she used it for only one child.
You can even use it standing up or when you move around since the strap goes around your back. The strap also provides back & lumbar support. The pocket is a nice touch (you put your Lansinoh, cell phone, baby nail clippers, etc in it) The only possible downside is it isn't that easy to put on with one hand (for example, if you are already cradling the baby)
If you're price sensitive look around, there are often significant discounts for older colors.

Very comfortable, but cumbersome to put onJan 18, 2008
By lorila I used this for my baby's first month or so, while we were still getting the hang of breastfeeding. It was very comfortable and gave great support. I then stopped using it because I found it too awkward and time-consuming to put on and take off, especially while trying to hold the baby in one hand while he is wriggling and screaming for a meal. At those times, I wished I had a Boppy that I could just shove around my waist in a hurry.
My 7-year old daughter uses it to help her support the baby when she wants to hold him. It works GREAT for that, she can hold him without having to support all his weight with her arms.
PROS: It is very comfortable to wear and supported both me and the baby very well. This is a quality product, very sturdy and well-made. The cover zips off for washing.
CONS: It can be difficult to get the pillow around you and fastened when you are holding a baby in one hand. When your baby starts learning to sit up and you want something to support him on the floor, the Boppy works, but My Brest Friend doesn't.

Brest Friend vs BoppySep 13, 2007
By Emily Hanks I bought "My Brest Friend" because my "Boppy" was losing it firmness. MBF is definetly more firm and hasn't lost the firmness. It also supports your back. I like MBF better than the Boppy. My son however still prefers the boppy. I think that MBF is too firm for him. It keeps him awake so he does eat better, but it is not good for the late night feedings where we want him to go to sleep.

My Best FriendFeb 02, 2007
By Carr Sick I think I practically wore this every day for the first 6 months of my child's life. It is awesome! It is great to sit up in bed and feed because it gives you back support. The child feels very supported as well. The cover is very easy to wash. I used it for a photo prop as well and to help her sit up when she was older. My only complaint is that I did not invent it!

Not essential, but highly recommendedSep 12, 2008
By AW My mother-in-law found this product, and bought it for me because she thought it looked practical. It's a bit odd looking, but as it turns out, she was definitely on to something. This would definitely be a nice shower present if you're trying to support a friend's choice to breastfeed.
I have the non-Deluxe model, but am putting my review here to try to keep it with the rest. The non-Deluxe model differs in that the strap uses only a buckle, and not velcro. I don't find that a drawback, since opening velcro tends to wake sleeping babies. I'd prefer the pouch use a snap for that reason, but it is a nice place to keep a Clif bar or lanolin cream. This pillow is sized quite generously; I'm an American size 12, and can wear it on its smallest setting. The pillow's strap lets me put it on, walk across the room, and grab the baby without having too much to juggle.
It's good that the cover is washable, but getting it on and off the foam is a pain, so I put a receiving blanket or towel over the pillow, which handles spitup and newborn diaper blowouts quite nicely. It also lets me wrap my son up and place him in his cradle with minimal disturbance.
While this isn't an essential item, it is a really nice one. Using it has allowed me to nurse one-handed and use the computer with the other, which does a lot for sanity when dealing with a frequent eater. Because it's so firm and flat, my son can nurse, nap a bit, and then wake up and nurse again, all while I check email. The back support is quite comfy, too.
