Great for travel once you get the hang of itJul 26, 2010 I love this spoon. I wouldn't use it everyday for regular feedings because it's a little strange. My baby (6 months) can't get all the food off in one shot and it seems the spoon is shaped a little weird (too big, hard plastic), but it is great when we're out and about. I just used it at an amusement park and it was great! I filled two up (one with a veggie, one with a fruit) and took it out at the park. No fuss, no muss!
You have to jiggle the food down to squeeze it out and sometimes it splatters out when you squeeze it. It is a great product though once you get the hang of it.
Not just for kidsJul 09, 2010 I make beer slushies and hang out in front of the game all weekend long with one or two of these contraptions in hand.
A Must Have!Jun 29, 2010 This feeding spoon is a definite must have for any parent on the go. It makes feeding so much easier and neater only having to use one hand! I wish I had known about this product much sooner. Great product for a great price!
So-So productJun 28, 2010 I bought 3 of these for my daycare thinking that they would help at lunch time. I have family with twins that loved them. I found them so-so.
Pros-
The idea is good
You can screw on your baby food jar to fill the spoon
Cons-
It squirts
It clogs
You still have to use a spoon to get the bottom of the food out of either the jar or the boon handle otherwise-
It wastes food
In short I will probably try them again when they are a little bigger(last time used was age 6 months) If I am still not liking them, I will be returning the 2 unopened ones.
SPOON IS TOO BIG AND HARDJun 17, 2010 I bought this product when my daughter was 4 months old because I thought it looked really easy and convenient to use. When I opened it, I noticed that the spoon was really huge and hard so I decided to wait and try it out when she got a little older and more used to eating from a spoon. She's 7 months old now and eating 2nd foods, so I decided to break it out and use it for the first time tonight. Normally she can eat an entire jar of 2nd foods in about 15 minutes with a regular infant spoon. When I offered her the food in this spoon, she had to open her mouth really wide just to fit the spoon in. It looked very uncomfortable. Then when she actually got it in her mouth, she couldn't get the food off the spoon because it is way too deep. She got about three bites halfway down (most of it drooled out onto her bib) before she started throwing a fit. After those three bites I decided to get a container and a spoon and do it the normal way. She finished the rest of the food in 10 minutes. Unless your baby has a gigantically huge mouth, I'd recommend the old fashioned way. That spoon is just too hard and huge. Not to mention it is very deep. My daughter is one of those babies who can't seem to wait for you to get the spoon to her mouth fast enough, so I thought this spoon would be perfect to start using since all you have to do is squeeze the bulb part. It took me ten minutes just to get her to take those three bites. I've been using the Munchkin Soft Bite Spoons since she started on her rice cereal. Those spoons are the perfect size and the tip is flexible and not too deep. She doesn't have to stretch her mouth open like Steven Tyler with those. The idea is perfect because the food actually does flow smoothly into the spoon when you squeeze the bulb part, making it extremely convenient and easy to use... I just wish they could have made the spoon part softer and not quite as huge and deep. Especially since you can only use it on 1st and 2nd foods. My daughter will be starting 3rd foods soon and I won't be able to use this spoon because the hole is too small for any food that is even slightly chunky (it kinda splurts out and splatters everywhere)... unless you don't mind sitting there with a toothpick to unclog it after every bite. My daughter doesn't have the patience for that!
