This is so safe and sturdy!!Jul 28, 2005
By Ferrety I thought the price was a bit steep for a step stool, but man is it well made! This step stool will not budge, with all the rubber grips it has. It's also a lot nicer looking after it's been used a while because the black rubber on the top wears so nicely. I looked at another step stool in the BRU store when I bought this, and its rubber already looked icky just from people testing it out. This Baby Bjorn one is also very strong, even for heavier children. I'm very pleased!

Tips over easilySep 21, 2005
By J. Blanton I've been a little disappointed in this step stool. My son is 2 and just starting to be interested in potty training. One of his favorite things has been using this stool to get up on the potty by himself. However, the stool has tipped over several times causing him to fall. Last night it happened again and when he fell he got a small cut on his head. Today the stool will "disappear" from his bathroom. We won't be using it anymore.

Safety HazardMar 26, 2007
By wild child's mom This step stool is a safety hazard. The sides are not angled enough so a two-year-old can easily step too close to the edge and tip it over. In fact the stepping surface is so small that it's hard for a little guy to stay in the middle of it. And when the stool is tumbled over a little explorer can hurt himself badly when he falls onto the sharp edges of the legs.

Looks nice but POOR designDec 28, 2008
By FlashFoot I don't think the designers of this stool had a good grasp of the physics behind getting knocked over. The larger footprint you can make the harder it is to get knocked over (think trees roots). The base of this Bjorn stool is too narrow, such that if my son stands right on the edge it will topple over.
I compared this stool side-by-side with our other stool (a older baby trend model) and you can see the difference in size of the base. When I push down on the edge of the baby trend stool, nothing happens. When I gently push on the edge of the Bjorn step, it flips! Unfortunately, amazon doesn't sell the baby trend one and I can't find it online elsewhere, otherwise I would recommend that one instead.
UPDATE: I ordered this stool Bright Starts Step Stool, Oval and it is way better: sturdy, less expensive, and still fun colors.

Useless for PottyJul 28, 2007
By J. Depper I bought this stool for toilet training. It does not get my 36 inch tall son anywhere near the potty seat except to peer down into the toilet. I moved the step into the kitchen so he can use it to get water from the refrigerator. False advertising.
