Works in second room with A-B switchSep 10, 2009

This camera works with the summer infant monitor/camera set that we bought from babies r us. There are other summer infant cameras that operate on a different frequency - innexplicably, the spare camera that babies r us was selling is one of the ones on the wrong frequency according to other reviewers. This one works well using the A-B switches. There is no interference in our house between the two cameras; you can switch back and forth with no issue. We have a jack-n-jill setup on the same floor and the monitor works everywhere as long as it is charged.

Since we have installed this extra camera in my second child's room we find that the original camera doesn't work as well. Both cameras are very staticy and completely black out from time to time. When the camera seems to be acting up it automatically switches back to the orignal camera, which is annoying when I am trying to look in on room 2. For the money, we spent about $250.00 for the orignial and extra camera. Next time I would just by 2 of the less expensive 100.00 cameras for each room.

This extra camera for Summer Infant handheld monitor is as outstanding as its original camera and monitor set. Both picture and sound is great day or night. I haven't found better product with 2 cameras. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that Channel B doesn't have as good frequency in my house as Channel A. That goes for the original camera as well as the extra. But with some effort, once a good spot is found, Channel B works well.

Purchased this to add another camera so can see two rooms and works great. Easy to "set up" and now just have to slide a switch on my monitor to see the other room :). Great color picture! Really nice to have the second camera!

I loved the Summer Infant Day/Night Handheld monitor. WHen I became pregnant with #2, I was upset I would have to give up using my monitor for #1. But, I realized I didn't. I bought this spare monitor and use both. It's wonderful! I can check up on both while napping and sleeping. Even though my #1 is almost 2 now, I like to be able to see him in his crib at night. My only complaint is I wish the camera would toggle automatically from channel to channel so I can keep watch on both my kids at night without having to manually switch the channel. Other than that, I get great reception and no problems with both cameras plugged in at my home.
